Excerpt from a text by Wilhelm Lindemann:
"Ute Eitzenhöfer's work is a reflection on jewellery and adornment. In the sense of Manfred Nisslmüller's dictum “Everything adorns that can be worn on the body”, she is committed to adornment, but to further formulate the concept of adornment above all in an aesthetic-ethical sense: She understands jewelry as a “sign on the body” and therefore also as a statement that not only the artist but also the wearer of the jewellery consciously decides to make."
In this sense, Ute Eitzenhöfer's jewellery is not just the artist's commitment to a message. It requires – and should also require – such a commitment from the person wearing it.
